Bill M.'s Story
After my transplant, my doctors talked to me about the AlloMap test. They told me that the first step would be to find out if I was a candidate for the test. I went into the office that day and I waited with my coordinator until they came down to tell me, “You qualify. You’re good to go.” Now when I go to the hospital, I go for a check-up, and then go for a blood draw. They put a band-aid on and I’m out of there. All told, I’m there for maybe an hour. I can go out to lunch and enjoy the rest of the day.
Anne's Story
I was a marathon runner for years. When I started to feel sick, the doctors couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me – it took them 12 years to recognize that I had serious heart disease. I just had my transplant 6 months ago, but already I feel so much better. My kids were young when I got sick and now they look at me like, “who is this woman?” Letting them know the old me is a great motivator to stay healthy and get back to who I used to be. With my new transplant, I’m happy to have a new lease on life! My doctors recently started using AlloMap – it’s an easy blood test.
Bill W.'s Story
I’m a lifelong athlete and my heart disease caught me by surprise. After a lifetime of participating in competitive sports, I was suddenly fighting for my life. But I was one of the lucky ones – I got a heart. My recovery was quick and I’m back to my old self, competing in sporting events around the world. I don’t ever want anything to slow me down again, so when my doctor talked to me about AlloMap, I was ready. AlloMap is a simple blood test that doesn’t require lots of time.
Jack's Story
Heart disease runs in my family, but even so, I never expected to need a heart transplant. Being sick just takes over your life and after the transplant, I don’t want to waste another minute. I count on my doctors – to advise me on how to remain healthy and to let me know how my heart is doing. The AlloMap test has been helpful and effortless - I go into the hospital… they take my blood, and I get to go home. I can go back to my life – the way it should be.
Sally's Story
I’ve had heart troubles for much of my life, but it took doctors a long time to diagnose my cardiomyopathy. My transplant took place several years ago and since then, I feel like a new person – I know a lot of people slow down after a transplant, but after a lifetime of sickness, I haven’t stopped moving. Now that I’m healthy again, I want to spend as little time as I can in the hospital. My doctor uses AlloMap in my case because I currently have a low probability of acute cellular rejection. AlloMap testing is quick and easy.
